How to Use?

Note:For each jar, give it a little shake before nosing it. That little bit of friction will heat up the contents a bit and activate those aromatic compounds.Be careful if you’re using ground spices. Empty the Honey in a labeled jar.

Step 1

Take out each container one by one and pass it underneath your nose. Note what kind of sense associations you have with particular smells. Think about foods or memories that you recall while concentrating on that scent.

Step 2

Break out the Bourbon! Use your favorite glass, preferably Glencairn glass. Pour and start the journey.

Step 3

With your mouth slightly open, smell the aroma of your bourbon. Keeping your mouth open is especially important with higher proof bourbon because it prevents your nose from being overwhelmed by alcohol When you smell the Bourbon, think about what it smells like and what it reminds you of. If you think of fruity or woody smell, use the fruity or nutty elements from Aroma kit to identify .Write down your thoughts and memories.

Step 4

Start to evaluate the taste of the Bourbon and “chew” it around in your mouth for 5-10 seconds before swallowing as it helps give your taste receptors time to identify flavors before swallowing. Start taking notes on what you tasted.In addition to flavor, evaluate mouthfeel if it is thick and creamy, or buttery and coat in the mouth. Still others feel thin or disappear quickly.

Step 5

Finally, evaluate the finish. The finish is the sensation in the mouth and throat after the whiskey has been swallowed. Some whiskey has coating sensation – perhaps with notes of oak, char, smoke, or sweet spices.
